Ken Tyler’s presentation at AHE is the 7th generation report regarding laundry cost benchmarks, which represents a General Average of Laundry Operations cost worldwide. The results of his reports are used throughout the Textile Care Industry worldwide. Ken Tyler is a registered Facility Manager, Government Contracting Specialist and is an Honorary Registered Laundry and Linen Director. Ken serves on the JCAHO Environment of Care Advisory Group is an Industry Advisor to several government and healthcare organizations including AHE, is a member of the Textile Rental Services (TRSA) Healthcare Committee. Ken also writes for numerous professional publications. Ken retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as National Program Manager of Textile Care Programs. During this 20 year appointment Ken was responsible for the establishment of numerous national policies as well as the design and construction of 63 health care laundry facilities. Ken was formally recognized by 5 different U.S. Presidents and other Federal departments during his VA career for his accomplishments. Ken is a graduate of Leadership VA. Ken served 27 years (Active and Reserve) in the United States Marine Corps. He received over 35 decorations for his service. His last military assignment was as the Command Inspector, for the 4th Marine Division. Ken attended Clemson University and is a graduate of the Harvard JFK School of Government, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Naval Command and Staff College.
