  • Maximize Resident Comfort with Luxury Sheeting

Don’t underestimate the impact that sheeting can have on a resident’s overall experience and the brand impression that your facility has on prospective residents and their families. A resident’s sheets could make or break their sleeping experience and can have a huge impact on the look of your resident rooms. When it comes to improving your residents’ sleep and making a great first impression for prospective residents and their families, quality sheets can set you apart from the competition.

Below are three tips related to sheeting that you can use to attract residents and help them feel safe and comfortable in their room.

comfort-sheeting

  1. Use a full set of sheeting on each bed
People often wonder, “Does a top sheet need to be included on every bed?” As it turns out, a flat top sheet serves many functional purposes: Not only do top sheets create a decorative ‘finish’ to the bed, they also protect residents from dust mites by limiting skin exposure to other bedding such as a comforter or duvet. In turn, any additional bedding that is laid over the top sheet is also protected from the resident, keeping it cleaner, longer. A semi-fitted top sheet adds another level of comfort by making it easy for residents to change positions and move around in their beds more freely to find a comfortable position without the risk of their other bedding sliding off from over them.
  2. Choose hospitality-quality bedding to add appeal
A resident’s room is the space in your senior living facility where they can find rest and respite from the rest of the world. Bedding used to care for residents should be selected for their quality and the comfort they impart to the resident experience. A resident’s sense of well-being comes in part from their perception of care and your staff’s attention to detail. By using hospitality-quality linens, not only can you customize the color of your sheeting to add to the aesthetic appeal of the room, you are also showing residents that you take their comfort seriously and choose only the best quality sheeting for them.
  3. Select the appropriate sheeting materials for optimal comfort
Sheets made from synthetic materials have a tendency to trap heat, which may be the right choice for facilities that are located in colder regions. However, Egyptian cotton blend sheets, especially moisture wicking sheets, offer a soft, cool feel that may be a better choice for warm-weather climates or for residents who frequently experience night-sweats. Climate control is an important factor in falling and remaining asleep.
